Migration Notes
A Migration Note is a small credit line on a page that was imported from an older website. It records the original page address and the date and time of the import, for example:
Migrated from https://old-site.example.org.uk/walks on Thursday, 8 August 2026, 1:11:00 pm
The line is public, so visitors (and editors) can open the old page while both sites are running in parallel. It is not a content block you would add by hand on a page you are writing from scratch.
Where it comes from
When a site is migrated, NGX adds a Migration Note row to each imported page. The default label is Migrated from. The row type also appears in the Row Type dropdown so you can open an existing note, change its type, or (rarely) add one if an imported page lost its credit line.
You do not fill in a rich editor. The note is the label, the source URL, and the import time.
Removing notes when the site goes live
Once the new site is the one members use, the old URLs no longer need to be advertised on every page.
- Open Admin > System Settings and go to the migration settings.
- The page counts how many pages still show a migration note.
- Use the control there to remove them all in one go when you are ready.
Do not delete notes one page at a time unless you have a reason to keep some and drop others.
