# Page Row Types There are 12 row types that form the building blocks of a page, plus a legacy **Carousel** type that still appears in the Row Type list. They are outlined as follows. * ### [Text](https://ngx-ramblers.org.uk/how-to/committee/editing-content/existing-pages/text-rows) A Text Row is designed for adding textual content into between 1 and 12 columns. You format the text in the visual editor: headings, lists, links and emphasis look on the page the way they look while you edit. You can also add an inline image after the text. When a row is inserted into a page it will by default be created with a single column which will take up the entire width of the Row. Albums can be displayed as a [Carousel](https://ngx-ramblers.org.uk/how-to/committee/images/albums/carousel), [Gallery](https://ngx-ramblers.org.uk/how-to/committee/images/albums/gallery), [Grid](https://ngx-ramblers.org.uk/how-to/committee/images/albums/grid) or [Backgrounds](https://ngx-ramblers.org.uk/how-to/committee/images/albums/backgrounds) slideshow. They can also link to a walk, social, or committee event and auto-generate links from the album title. See the [Albums](https://ngx-ramblers.org.uk/how-to/committee/images/albums) article for a detailed guide. * ### [Index](https://ngx-ramblers.org.uk/how-to/committee/editing-content/example-pages/indexes) This allows you to auto-generate a set of action buttons based on a collection of pages or albums elsewhere on the site. You can choose all or a subset. This row type is useful if you want to structure your content in a nested way throughout your site, for example an index on a weekend break page, with links to an album of photos for each of the weekend breaks that are available. The index can also generate an interactive map with pins: if the child pages contain location rows, each page appears as a pin on the map, allowing visitors to navigate directly to a page by clicking its pin. When a page with a location row appears in an index that includes a map view, a pin will automatically appear on the map based on the location details. Edit the fragment once, and every page that uses it updates automatically. Routes are shown as coloured lines on the map with start/end markers, direction arrows, and optional waypoints. Supports both OpenStreetMap and Ordnance Survey map tiles. Use it when the map is the route itself, rather than a map sitting among other content. It is added automatically during a site migration and can be removed when the new site goes live. The **Album** row type now accommodates all carousel functions and should be used instead.
