# Banners (email configuration)

Banners are the branded header images that sit at the top of every email sent from your site. They are created and managed under [Admin → Banners](https://ngx-ramblers.org.uk/admin/banners) and then attached to individual email notifications under **Admin → Mail Settings** on the **Email Configurations** tab.

The full guide — including the three banner styles (Papercut Background, Logo and Text Lines, Logo Only), worked examples, creation steps, configuration options, and management actions — lives on the main **[Banners](https://ngx-ramblers.org.uk/how-to/committee/banners)** page.

## In the context of email templates

When a notification is sent:

- The **email template** provides the text and layout (see [Email Templates](https://ngx-ramblers.org.uk/how-to/committee/email-articles/configuration/brevo-templates)).
- The **banner** you selected for that notification is pulled in as the header image at send time.
- Live data (member name, dates, links) is merged in from the event, member or booking record.

This means you can change a banner once in [Admin → Banners](https://ngx-ramblers.org.uk/admin/banners) and every notification using it will pick up the new look the next time it sends — no template edit required.
