They are maintained centrally, kept up to date automatically with each release, and rendered entirely by your own site. [Brevo](https://www.brevo.com/) (formerly Sendinblue) remains the delivery service that carries the emails to your members' inboxes, but it no longer stores or controls what the emails say or how they look.\n\n## What a template provides\n\n- **Layout and styling** - mobile-friendly, Ramblers-aligned design: fluid 600px container, consistent typography, heading hierarchy, and a unified footer with social icons and charity number.\n- **Standard wording** - well-tested text for each purpose, with merge fields filled in per recipient at send time (member names, expiry dates, reset links and so on).\n- **Image slots** - the banner at the top comes from your [Banners](https://ngx-ramblers.org.uk/how-to/committee/banners) configuration, and some templates have further image slots you can fill with your own screenshots.\n\n## The built-in templates\n\n- **Welcome to the group** - sent to new members\n- **Website and login details** - credentials email for new accounts\n- **Forgot password** - password reset link\n- **Membership expiry warning** - sent before a membership is due to expire\n- **Membership expiry** - sent when a membership has expired\n- **Booking emails** - confirmation, cancellation, waiting list, place restored and reminder\n- **Fully-automated text body** - a general-purpose template whose whole body is supplied by the email configuration or the Email Composer\n\n## Customising the wording for your group\n\nYou never need to leave the website to change what these emails say. Each email configuration under **Admin → Mail Settings → Email Configurations** lets you:\n\n- edit the whole email in an ordinary editor, with merge fields, links and images\n- reset back to the standard wording at any time\n- for booking emails, control each section independently: standard wording, your own wording, or leave it out\n\nAnything you customise is kept, even when the standard wording is improved in a later release. The step-by-step guide with screenshots is [Customising Email Wording](https://ngx-ramblers.org.uk/how-to/committee/email-articles/customising-email-wording).\n\n## What is configured outside the template\n\nThe notification configuration (not the template) controls the subject prefix and suffix, the banner image, sender and reply-to roles, sign-off roles, CC/BCC roles, member selection, and any workflow actions that run before or after sending. See [Email configurations](https://ngx-ramblers.org.uk/how-to/committee/email-articles/mail-settings/email-configurations) for the full tour.\n\n## Related reading\n\n- [Introduction to email articles](https://ngx-ramblers.org.uk/how-to/committee/email-articles/introduction)\n- [Sending Emails](https://ngx-ramblers.org.uk/how-to/committee/email-articles/sending-emails)\n- [Composer walkthrough](https://ngx-ramblers.org.uk/how-to/committee/email-articles/sending-emails-walkthrough)\n- [Customising Email Wording](https://ngx-ramblers.org.uk/how-to/committee/email-articles/customising-email-wording)\n- [Subscribing members](https://ngx-ramblers.org.uk/how-to/committee/email-articles/subscribing-members)\n- [Banners](https://ngx-ramblers.org.uk/how-to/committee/banners)\n- [Email forwarding](https://ngx-ramblers.org.uk/how-to/committee/email-articles/email-forwarding)","contentHtml":"
Email Templates
\n
Every branded email your site sends (welcome emails, login details, password resets, membership expiry reminders, booking confirmations and so on) is built from an email template: a ready-made layout with standard wording, designed for one specific purpose.
\n
Since June 2026, these templates are part of the website itself.
