Grid

Editing Images in a Grid
Grid is one of the four Album views available - the others are Carousel, Gallery and Backgrounds. Grid view is the default view when you create a new album and is a good all-round choice for pages that need to display many photos at once: social event albums, weekend-away photo collections and any page where browsing by thumbnail is more useful than a sequential slideshow. Each image can have a title and date displayed below it, and images can be clicked to open a full-size lightbox. Above is an example of the Grid view in use on a social events photos page.
Because the grid shows everything at once, it works best when you have organised your album with descriptive titles and (optionally) dates on each image. See Tagging and Event Linking for the details of how image titles, dates and event links are populated.
Going into Edit Mode
- You need to be logged into the site as an administrator. If you haven't done that yet, follow this guide.
- Visit the page that contains the grid album (or create a new page with a row of type Album).
- Toggle edit site from the website header. The page content will go into edit mode and you will see the Album Settings tab at the top of the album row as shown below:

Album Settings tab when the album is configured as a Grid
In the screenshot above you can see the Row Type is Album and the Album View is Grid. The configuration options that most directly affect a grid are:
- Show Image Titles: checkbox to control whether each thumbnail displays the image title below it.
- Show Image Dates: checkbox to control whether each thumbnail displays the date below the title.
- Show Story Navigator: if your album images are organised into stories, the story links are shown along the top of the grid so visitors can jump directly to a section.
- Show Indicators: for the grid view these appear as small markers under each story; untick to hide them.
- Allow View To Be Changed In Presentation Mode: if on, visitors see a small toolbar at the top of the album letting them switch between Grid, Gallery, Carousel and Backgrounds views without leaving the page. Useful if the same album is worth viewing in more than one way.
- Border Radius: the corner rounding applied to each thumbnail, in pixels.
Switching An Existing Album To Grid
If your album is currently displayed as a Carousel, Gallery or Backgrounds slideshow and you would like to switch it to Grid:
- Go into edit site mode.
- Scroll to the album row and click Edit images in album > to bring up the image manager, then exit back to the preview (no changes are needed to the images themselves).
- Above the preview there is a small toolbar with four icons - backgrounds, carousel, gallery, grid. Click the grid icon.
- The preview updates immediately. Click Save to persist the change.
For information on the other tabs Titles and Event Linking, Cover Image and Introductory Text and Pre-Album Text see the separate page on editing album elements.
