New Duplicate Page Content Text Navigator page admin/duplicate-page-content-navigator has been created to display data where more than one page has been created with the same content path. This should never happen subsequent to this release, as validation has been added to prevent it, but there may be cases where this can be bypassed. When this happens, unpredictable behaviour can happen in rendering the page as either page content can be displayed, so this page is designed to identify and rectify the incorrect data.
When the page is opened, an analysis of any duplicate page content across the site is performed and if any are found they are listed in sequence, grouped by content path as follows:
In the example above, 2 duplicates have been found for content path photos/2024/ulcombe and the content for each is then shown enclosed in a dotted line. For each, an option is given to delete the content path or to rename the path to something else. Both actions will clear the duplicate.
In the example above, the first instance appears to be the correct content, as the second contains no content, so the correct course of action would be to click Delete page content duplicate 2 of 2.
Once the deletion has taken place the page is refreshed and the number of duplicates will have been reduced by one:
The above process should then be repeated until all remaining duplicates have been dealt with, after which the page should then display the following:
