# 22-Jul-2026 — generated sitemap.xml, robots.txt and official page addresses [ref #297](https://github.com/nbarrett/ngx-ramblers/issues/297)

## [build 789](https://github.com/nbarrett/ngx-ramblers/actions/runs/29965636738) — [commit 4455bca](https://github.com/nbarrett/ngx-ramblers/commit/4455bcab8aa86eee6e3a9c2ec691bec266de5030)

## What's new

Search engines can now discover and index every public page on a site reliably. Each site serves a `sitemap.xml` generated automatically from the pages and events already in the site, and a `robots.txt` that points crawlers at it. Every page also declares its official address, so duplicate listings caused by tracking labels such as `?ref=ed_direct` collapse into the proper address in Google's index.

## At a glance

- `sitemap.xml` is generated automatically from the site's public pages, walks and social events, so it stays up to date on its own
- `robots.txt` points search engines at the sitemap and keeps them out of admin and login pages
- every page declares its official address, so addresses with tracking labels on the end no longer appear as separate pages in Google
- benefits every NGX site with nothing to configure - the site address already held in system settings is used throughout
