What's new

The Facebook panel on the home page now shows your group's own recent posts, in the site's own styling, instead of an embedded Facebook window that never quite fitted and increasingly asked visitors to log in. Each post shows its photo, its opening words, who posted it and how long ago, and opens the real post on Facebook when clicked. Sharing a walk photo album has been improved too: Facebook now receives every photo in the album, and album pages carry links out to the posts they were published as.

At a glance

• Your group's recent Facebook posts appear on the home page, with no Facebook window, script or cookies on the page
• Clicking a post opens it on Facebook
• If no Facebook Page is connected, the panel explains that rather than sitting empty
• Sharing an album now sends every photo to Facebook, while Instagram keeps to the two to ten you choose
• Album pages show "Also posted on Facebook" and "Also posted on Instagram" links to everyone, not just to people who can edit the site
• A new album setting turns those links off for an individual album
