What's new

The choices you make on a walk's map are now part of the page address, so the map looks the same when you come back to it or send the link to somebody else. Previously the map always reset to the start point, so a link to a linear walk could never show somebody the finish.

At a glance

• A walk link remembers whether you were on OS Maps or Google Maps
• It also remembers whether the map was showing the start, the finish, or both ends
• A postcode typed into "Driving from" stays with the link, so directions are ready when it is opened
• This applies on a walk's own page: choosing an option on a walk card in a list no longer affects the other walks shown
