17-Aug-2026 — open-source Jitsi video meetings with guest email invites and calendar planning ref #357
build 834 — commit cf86dec
What's new
You can run committee and other meetings from the site instead of Zoom. Start a room now, join from a link, or plan a meeting from the walks calendar. Planning a meeting can generate a draft agenda as a committee event for that date, put it on the committee year page, and open the email composer with the chosen list and the agenda already attached. The agenda follows the usual committee layout, with date, online location, and a join link to the new video meeting rather than Zoom. Meeting types (AGM, Committee Meeting, Other) live on Committee Settings and drive the title and agenda file type. The invite email includes a calendar file so recipients can add the meeting to their diary.
At a glance
- Start a meeting now, or join from a link, with no Zoom subscription
- Guests need no account: they open the link, allow camera and microphone, and they are in
- Plan a meeting from the calendar: set the time, type and title, include a mail list and extra guests
- Continue opens the email composer with that list selected and the draft agenda attached
- Generate draft agenda creates a committee event on that date and lists it under Committee events for the year
- The agenda opens like other committee papers, with a meeting join link at the top instead of a Zoom link
- The list invite includes a calendar file, and the join link in the email is the public meeting address
- Committee Settings has meeting types: AGM, Committee Meeting and Other, each with its own agenda file type
- Notes stay with the group after the call, and committee members can be meeting moderators on a self-hosted Jitsi
