# 04-Sep-2026 — detect committee roles pointing at deleted members and let an admin reassign them [#363](https://github.com/nbarrett/ngx-ramblers/issues/363)

## [build 877](https://github.com/nbarrett/ngx-ramblers/actions/runs/33817828838) — [commit fd695f9](https://github.com/nbarrett/ngx-ramblers/commit/fd695f975b5734663d9e9c14941f25787fcfda9f)

## What's new

When a member record is deleted, any committee role still linked to that member silently loses its holder: nobody can see the role's inbox and the inbox page only shows a vague alert. Committee Settings and the inbox now spot roles whose member no longer exists, say who the role used to point at and when that record was deleted, and let an administrator pick the member who now holds the role and reassign it in one click. The role's mailbox address, forwarding and visibility settings are kept, and the change is saved through the normal committee settings path so the audit trail is preserved.

## At a glance

- A warning panel on Committee Settings lists each role whose linked member (or inbox recipient) has been deleted
- The same panel appears at the top of the inbox for member administrators, since that is where the problem is usually noticed
- Each row has a member picker and a Reassign button; the panel disappears once every role resolves to a real member
- Where the deleted member record is still on file, the panel shows their name and the deletion date
