The walk editor's add address now works when opened directly: it sets the reader as walk leader and starts the walk at the group's default start time, exactly as the add-walk button does, and it follows the same \"who can create their own walk\" setting. Walk Configuration gains that default start time, 10:30 unless changed, so new walks no longer start at whatever time of day the leader happened to be sitting at the keyboard. A fault that stopped anyone changing the date, or anything else, on a brand new walk is fixed at the same time.\n\n## At a glance\n\n- Opening the walks area's `edit/add` address while logged in creates a new walk with you as leader; anyone without permission is returned to the walks page\n- New walks and Add Walk Slots both start at the group's default start time, set in Walk Configuration under Default start time for new walks, which replaces the fixed 10:00 that slots used before\n- Every field on a brand new walk, the date included, is editable again","contentHtml":"
06-Sep-2026 — a link that opens a new walk directly, a default start time for new walks, and new-walk #269
\n
build 879 — commit 89d3bd0
\n
\n
What's new
\n
Groups writing their own how-to pages for leaders wanted a link that takes the reader straight into creating a walk, rather than describing where to find the button.
