What's new

The committee summary for a member bulk load now reports what the committee actually needs: new members, who was sent an expiry warning, and who was sent the expiry email and removed from the site. The field-by-field list of changes to existing members has gone, since it is of no interest to the committee. Before sending, you now see the finished email exactly as it will arrive and choose who it goes to.

At a glance

• The summary lists members sent the expiry warning and members sent the expiry email (and removed) after that bulk load
• Updated members are no longer listed with their field changes; only a count remains
• Pressing Send committee summary shows a full preview of the email and its subject
• Recipients are chosen on the spot, starting from the roles set on the summary's email configuration, and any member or email address can be added
• Members removed by the expiry email are still named in the summary

Also in this change

• Platform alert emails, such as scheduled task problems, are sent only from deployed environments; a local development server logs the alert instead, since a restart there is not a production problem
• HTML and XML escaping, and removing trailing slashes from web addresses, each have one shared function, so emails, map pop-ups, route files, the sitemap and links all behave the same way
