# 23-Sep-2026 — follow controls, appearance, in-app links and a fresh phone home ([ref #151](https://github.com/nbarrett/ngx-ramblers/issues/151), [#394](https://github.com/nbarrett/ngx-ramblers/issues/394))

## [build 966](https://github.com/nbarrett/ngx-ramblers/actions/runs/35930860545) — [commit 86d72e4](https://github.com/nbarrett/ngx-ramblers/commit/86d72e443f5e92af894c6f67c05aaa6eadedf7c0)

## What's new

The follow map puts Close and the heading tape on one row, and Start, Edit, Record and Pause sit at the bottom with an icon and a label. Customise is left with the settings control as Back instead of a Done button, and light, dark and match-phone are always available on the home and in Customise. Links to other pages on the same site, including www and non-www, stay in the app. Opening the phone home or pulling to refresh now loads the current site: the walking app fetches a new `/app` when you are online, so an old cached Follow list cannot come back, and it reloads the phone home when a new version is deployed unless you are mid-follow.

Pull-to-refresh on the phone only starts after a clear downward pull. Sideways movement, including the Nearby distance slider, is left to the control you are actually using. Form fields, links, buttons and similar controls are no longer treated as a pull to refresh.
