# 30-Oct-2026 — keep mail-client folders in step with the inbox [#407](https://github.com/nbarrett/ngx-ramblers/issues/407)

## [build 1031](https://github.com/nbarrett/ngx-ramblers/actions/runs/41144021238) — [commit ffa2c2f](https://github.com/nbarrett/ngx-ramblers/commit/ffa2c2fa2b2bd7f9d16fc7fe5b2d821da63153a5)

## What's new

- Creating a folder in Apple Mail, Outlook or Thunderbird now adds the same folder to the NGX inbox. A name such as INBOX/Meetings is stored as Meetings.
- Dragging messages into a folder files those conversations there. Dragging them to Deleted records the deletion, so the same mail is not delivered into Inbox again. Dragging them back to Inbox or into a folder brings that conversation back.
- Renaming a folder in the mail app renames it in the inbox, and the conversations stay in it. A website folder cannot be renamed to Inbox, Sent, Drafts, Junk or Deleted. Renaming a folder in the inbox shows up in the mail app the next time that app refreshes its folder list.
- Deleting a folder in the mail app removes it from the inbox and files its conversations in Deleted. Thunderbird's habit of renaming a folder to Deleted/Name does the same.
- Inbox, Sent, Drafts, Junk and Deleted cannot be renamed or deleted from the mail app. Outlook's own Archive, Conversation History, Outbox and Snoozed folders stay in Outlook.
- Messages with attachments now open with a normal message body in Outlook, instead of showing the raw attachment encoding.
