Walk Leader Contact Settings

You can control how visitors get in touch with walk leaders. This is set up in Admin → System Settings → Area & Group → Event Configuration.

Contact Methods

There are three options for how the "Contact Walk Leader" link works:

• Via the Ramblers website — visitors are directed to the leader's profile on the Ramblers website
• Via your site's contact form — visitors fill in a contact form on your site, and the message is sent to the walk leader's email address
• Via email — visitors see a direct email link to the walk leader

When using the contact form, if a walk leader's email address isn't available, the message is sent to a fallback committee role (e.g. Walks Co-ordinator) that you can configure.

Who Can See What

• Visitors do not need to log in to contact a walk leader or view phone numbers
• Walk leader phone numbers are visible to everyone when the public-viewable setting is enabled
• The contact link shows a tooltip describing what will happen when clicked (e.g. "Opens contact form" or "Opens email")

Matching Walk Leaders to Members

When walks are synced from the Ramblers Walks Manager, the leader may only have a Ramblers website URL rather than an email address. The Rematch button matches synced walk leaders to your site's member records and fills in their actual email address automatically.
