Walk Brief

The leader’s introductory brief to walkers before the walk sets off is the starting point of a successful walk. The Rambler's online training is the prime place to see what should be included. The following guidance may be helpful:-

1. Welcome to Ramblers New Forest group everyone.

2. I’m ( name) your leader for today. (Count group) appoint a back marker.

3. Any new members/prospective members?

4. Route x miles, y hours. Route Description, Mid route break (location?). Return time (approximately). The group will stay together, with a comfortable pace for everyone.

5. Weather (precautions) and Main hazards of route and Forest.

6. Ramblers recommend using the Emergency contact on your phone for all emergencies and offer Ramblers cards.

7. Any allergies or other health issues please share with me and if necessary fellow walkers.
