We set off downhill past Faithfulls and cross a field to reach the A343 Andover Road, which we cross (with great care!). Losing height through a wooded area we then proceed uphill to join Hipple Lane and emerge opposite Steele's Farm. From here a series of field paths brings us to St. James Church, where we will stop for refreshment.

Road walking brings us to Lower Manor Farm where we take a footpath heading southwards to pass through Sidley Wood and emerge by Newbury Lodge Kennels at Sidley Bottom and recross the A343 (with even greater care!). Road walking of around 1 Km follows before we  set off uphill to briefly join old friend Brenda Parker Way before joining the byway passing Sladen Green Farm, which continues alongside Splatts and Lye Copses. A bridleway then takes us gently uphill, passing Beech Hanger Copse, to a "crossroads" where we turn left to pass The Kennels and return to our starting point.
