Blackheath to Greenwich park circular

Starting at Blackheath station, this walk takes us across the heath and into Greenwich, exploring local connections with authors and poets, such as Dickens and C.Day Lewis.

The walk is 4.9 miles long , entirely on surfaced paths and pavements (no mud!), includes stunning views from Greenwich park of the well known landmarks of the Observatory, Queens House, Wren's Greenwich Hospital, O2 etc. There are cafes and toilets in the park and we will have a stop there. It is possible to shorten the walk by taking a bus from Greenwich cinema back to Blackheath for any weary walkers who wish to avoid climbing the hill on the way back.
