Charing Trek

In Charing we pass the remains of the Archbishops Palace, which dates from the early 13th Century. Charing was one of 17 medieval palaces in the possession of the archbishopric of Canterbury and the first in a string serving the archbishops' travels between Canterbury and London. It is currently being restored. Later we pass the Kent Gliding Centre where we may see some gliders being launched. We then descend to the North Downs Way and back to Charing.
