Cowden to Forest Row Circular

An undulating Wealden Walk leaving Cowden via Holtye Common and the golf club towards Great Cansiron through a rather boggy Pond Bay, a remnant of the area's iron making industry, walking through fields and woods. From Great Cansiron we follow the ridge towards Owlets and take our coffee looking North across the countryside before joining the Vanguard Way towards Forest Row, where we will join the Forest Way briefly until we stop off at  Tablehurst Community Farm to have our 20 minute lunch stop in the garden of the farm cafe. Other refreshments and snacks are available in the farm shop. 

We will walk through the farm, climbing to join the High Weald Landscape Trail, and follow the lengthy ridge past St Ives camp site, with views over the Weald and Hartfield before turning north through Basset's Manor with further views, passing through Sweetwoods Park Golf Club back to Cowden and the opportunity of refreshment at the Fountain.

Good walking countryside with plenty of views and places of interest and a mixture of woodland and open trails.
