Flying swan from Nuffield to Bix - Please book online
This undulating walk starts at Holy Trinity church (last resting place of Viscount Morris) and leads us away from Nuffield, south east along tracks and paths to Nott Wood, then down to Stoney Bottom and up to Highmoor through the woods to Merrimoles, then along a track to Bix (home of the first dual carriageway).Continuing north east, we head to Catslip and Crocker End before turning north to Stockings Plantation. From here, the route turns east to Park Corner, where we join the Chiltern Way, then the Ridgeway to return to the start. There will be the opportunity to stop for tea and cake at the Maker Space before crossing Huntercombe Golf course at the end.
There is a reasonable amount of shade on the walk but please dress according to the prevailing weather on the day.
The paths are in reasonable condition but we do cross the A4130 twice, so extra care will need to be taken on this busy road.
