Groombridge to Frant revised
The walk starts in Groombridge and follows some of the Tunbridge Wells Circular Path until it arrives at the pretty village of Frant. The morning distance is 6.3 miles with ascent of about 600 feet/180 metres.
A short while after leaving Groombridge we walk through Birchden Wood and past Harrison's Rocks which are popular with rock climbers. After Eridge Rocks, we walk through Eridge Park which is reputedly the oldest deer park in Britain.
Lunch will be either a picnic on the green at Frant or in The George pub next to the church. Please note that the pub would like a pre-order on the morning so if you want to lunch there be ready to make your choice before we set off.
After lunch, we retrace the path we took in the morning but leave the TWCP at Park Corner and walk along a quiet lane to Groombridge. The distance is 5.3 miles and the ascent is 120 feet/40 metres.
