Hythe Walk
This 9-mile walk from Hythe heads to one of the most notable landmarks on the surrounding hills, as it heads to the Radio Mast & trig point atop Tolsford Hill. This gives a second opportunity to head to the top of the hill, for those who were unable to do so on the walk there from Farthing Common on May 14th.This time heading out of Hythe we follow the Elham Valley Way, as we set forth uphill to cross Sene Valley Golf Course and pass the first of two trig points on this walk. The route continues through Sene Farm & Scene Wood, followed by Dibgate Camp.On reach Newington we joined the Dismantled Railway, before climbing further to the highest point of the walk at Tolsford Hill. From there it is all downhill on our return to Hythe ,via the Saxon Shore Way to Saltwood, then through Brockhill Country Park. There will be the usual snack break/drink stops along the route, whilst there are plenty of refreshment opportunities and public toilets in Hythe on our return.Walk leader is Andrew Swarbrick
