Lyminge Forest, Rhodes Minnis

Start 10.00 from the West Wood Forest Car Park. The number 18 bus between Canterbury and Folkestone stops nearby – ask for the stop by the Lord Whisky Tea Room at the end of Gate Lane. The car park is around 0.5 miles along the road opposite Gate Lane.

Our route will head west through the Forest, across Stone Street to Lymbridge Green and Whatsole Street. We’ll then head north through Elmsted and pass by the SSSI at Spong Wood to reach North Leigh and Stelling Minnis.  Our return is across fields and through Park Wood.

We may have an opportunity to purchase refreshments at Stelling Minnis where there is a pub, shop and coffee stop, but please bring plenty to drink and a packed lunch as we may stop before.

Well-behaved dogs on leads are welcome – but there may be stiles along the way which are not dog-friendly and we are likely to encounter livestock in a number of places.
