Medway Meander: Tudeley to Tonbridge

Join us on a leisurely late summer stroll beside the River Medway from Tudeley Hale to Tonbridge. We’ll join the Medway towpath/Wealdway at Hartlake Bridge, scene of the 1853 disaster where a horse-drawn wagon carrying hop-pickers fell into the River Medway. Heading west towards Tonbridge, we’ll pass Porter’s Lock and Eldridge’s Lock.

Leaving the Wealdway and the river at Cannon Bridge, we’ll pass through a light industrial area before returning to Tudeley via The Postern, taking in parkland, farmland and orchards.

The walk is mainly flat with no stiles.

Small, well-behaved dogs on short leads are welcome on this walk.
