Micheldever Woods and the Itchen circular Walk - Please book online

This is a circular walk starting from the Micheldever Woods car park.  We head south-east initially on the Oxdrove Way before dropping gently south towards Itchen Abbas.  We walk west along a short section of the dismantled Watercress Line railway, now the Watercress Way.  On reaching Martyr Worthy we head south again and get our first glorious view of the Itchen; we’ll have coffee here.

We continue west along the Itchen Way, before crossing the river just north of Easton.  We skirt that village and head east re-crossing the river at Chilland Mill.  We continue east along St James Way (the Camino Ingles) squeezing through a ridiculously small kissing gate.

At Itchen Abbas, we cross to the south of the Itchen again passing Avington House on our right.  Eventually we reach St Swithuns Way (or remain on the Itchen Way - either description works) before dropping down to cross the Itchen one last time.  We will have our lunch stop where we cross the river.

We then head north along the Three Castles Path (or Oxdrove Way if you prefer) and head back towards Micheldever Woods.
