Penshurst to Speldhurst

Starting from Penshurst, the first half of the morning is pretty flat as we cross the river Medway.  We climb fairly gently up to Stockland Green and then follow the Tonbridge Wells Circular Walk to Speldhurst.  About 5½ miles and 550 feet/170 metres of ascent.

In the afternoon, we leave Speldhurst on the Wealdway and stay on it through Avery's Wood.  A short walk down a quiet lane past Little Hickman's and a great view over the Medway valley (weather permitting!).  Then it's downhill with that view in front of us to the Medway and back to Penshurst.  About 4 miles and 350 feet/110 metres of ascent.
