A Scenic Walk from Teston Country Park
Leaving Teston Country Park we head west along the tow path along the scenic banks of the river Medway past Teston lock making our way to the Bow Bridge at Wateringbury. Crossing the Medway we turn east and follow the river before beginning to ascend the northern slope of the valley with its scenic views back across the valley. From Tutsham Hall we turn south and make our way to Shingle Barn Farm. We then turn east past Quarry Wood to Quarry Farm (The Quarry was the site of limestone used by the Romans in London). Turning north we make our way to our lunch stop at Farleigh Green.
After lunch we head north east through fields of crops and woodland and down to the Medway at East Farleigh. Crossing the ancient bridge we turn west and follow the Medway back to our start point at Teston Country Park, enjoying the views as we go.
Picnic lunch at West Farleigh with the option of refreshments in nearby pub.
Please bring a picnic.
