Southborough Common to Tonbridge

Repeat of a walk last led in March 2025 - a circular walk from Southborough Common to Tonbridge with the option of a return by bus at lunchtime (frequent service - details below) for those looking for a half-day option

In the morning we head east using sections of the Tunbridge Wells Circular before circling back and coming into Tonbridge on the Medway to the castle. Lunch at the Humphrey Bean or in the many cafes and pubs in the town. Pretty easy going, 2 small hills of 200 feet combined.

In the afternoon we head west following the river for a short period before striking off to Haysden Country park (pause for toilets and cafe take-outs) and onto the Wealdway back to the start point. One long climb of 1.25 miles ascending 400 feet towards the end.

Buses - regular service on routes 7 and 402 from Tonbridge Castle (stop E on the High St) to start point (stop name - Birchwood Avenue). Leader can provide times on the day.
