Wye circular
NOTE CHANGES TO START PLACE AND TIME
The walk starts from Wye Village Green on the North Down Way/Stour Valley Walk which takes us onto the Downs and through meadows and woodland to our first view point at Crundale, then past Eggarton Manor onto the Blue Downs with extensive views to the West and North over Chilham.
On leaving the SVW we loop north through Denge Woods towards Sole Street where we will stop for our picnic lunch with the option of refreshments at the interesting Compasses pub. Refreshed, we will follow Crundale Downs with easterly views back to our start point to join the North Downs Way, through the Wye National Nature Reserve, established in 1961 as an important chalkland site, along the ridge of the Wye Downs to the Wye Crown viewpoint, with spectacular Southerly views.
Wild flower meadows, corn fields packed with skylarks, woodland and spectacular views.
From the Wye Crown we will retrace our steps into Wye.
